“Disappointing experience after years as a loyal customer I have been a Sixt customer for years and chose them again for a long-term Sixt+ subscription in April 2026 (Reservation 9733058332). The experience at the Alicante Centre branch was below the standard I have come to expect from Sixt. What happened: The vehicle originally assigned to me (4335NLD) could not be located by the branch staff. A replacement vehicle (0865NLJ) was provided, and I was charged a "Requested vehicle exchange" fee of 49 EUR — for a swap that was caused entirely by Sixt's inability to deliver the originally assigned car. According to Sixt's own GTC (Section B.3), this fee applies only to customer-initiated exchanges. After I filed a formal complaint, Sixt silently issued a corrected invoice removing this charge, without any apology or explanation. The replacement vehicle was delivered with adhesive residue on the windshield (a safety concern affecting visibility) and no floor mats at all. When I raised these issues, I was told that "floor mats are company policy" and the residue is "acceptable because the car is new." Neither response is consistent with Section B.1 of the General Rental Conditions. When I asked about the price of upgrading to a different category (BMW Serie 1), I received figures that did not match Sixt's own public website. The discrepancy was over 200 EUR per month. Throughout this process I had to identify all errors myself, document them, and escalate them in writing. The customer support response time was slow, and the answers were templated and unclear. Sixt is a premium brand at premium prices. The level of attention to detail at this branch does not reflect that. I will gladly update this review if the remaining issues are resolved professionally.”

“⚠️SCAM ALERT⚠️After returning the vehicle in the same condition I received it— no damage whatsoever-I was shocked to be hit with a hefty damage fee 3 days later. There was no walkthrough at drop-off and no evidence provided to support their claim. When I reached out for clarification, customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, offering vague explanations but no actual proof of any damage. When I asked to see the damage on the car it was conveniently "rented out." It is a fraudulent and dishonest practice to charge customers for issues that didn't occur. I took excellent of the car and documented its condition, yet that didn't seem to matter. I would strongly caution others to take photos and videos before and after renting-and honestly, consider using a different company altogether.”
